Hi everyone! I want to welcome you to Cory and Lisa's Blog for our baby-in-progress, Aiden. We decided to create this page so our friends and family can follow along in Aidens progress. I am not much of a writer and have NEVER wrote a blog before, so please have patience with me through this process.
Today I am 26 weeks pregnant! During our routine 20 week ultrasound doctors discovered that our little guy has a defect known as an Omphalocele. An Omphalocele is when the abdominal wall does not form correctly and the abdominal contents are contained in a sac protruding from the body. This defect can be fixed with surgery after he is born. It may take weeks or months before his body will be strong enough for surgery. We have had many other tests done to tell if there are any other defects but as of right now it looks very good that there are not.
We are blessed to be have amazing friends and family who love and support us. Without them this would be a much more difficult time. We will try to keep everyone posted on any developments as they come along.
